Diary of a Tusker

25 th January, 2019 I was bleeding and one of my tusks was broken into half. There was a lot of commotion, angry voices and fireworks. Everything was happening fast and my mind wasn’t able to register. My legs were chained and ropes were lassoed around my head. I swayed from side to side and a giant metallic hand tried to lift me. I was weak, scared and longed to see my family. I fought to the best of my ability but the syringe on my back immoblised me. I was treated like a criminal even though I’ve never hurt a soul. My body became hot and my eyes were drooping. Before I knew it, I was deported to an unknown land in the middle of the night. 26 th January, 2019 When I came back to my senses, my stomach growled and my tongue was dry. There was no use searching for food or water, as all I saw were houses instead of trees and rivers. I wanted to see my family.
